INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR 96-PORT FIBRESPLICE SHELF (96-FSS)

1.       INTRODUCTION

 1.1 This instruction manual provides a comprehensive description of functionand  operation of 96-portFibre Splice Shelf(96-FSS).

1.2  The FSS housesthe 96 fibre splices formed from the fusion of fibres with pigtails.

1.3  The FSS alsoprovides storage space for storing the excess length of fibres  and pigtails.

2.       DESIGN FEATURES

2.1  The FSS is madeof aluminum alloy epoxy powder coating.

2.2     The FSS is designed to fit bothstandard 19“ or 23”rack mount .

2.3     For interchangeability purposes, thatthe dimensions of both the FTS and FSS is same.

2.4  All activitiesinclude splicing and storing of excess fibres slack can be performed at thefront of the shelf.

3.       CONSTRUCTION DESCRIPTION

3.1   Main body

3.1.1 Removable front cover : for front access. 

3.1.2 Cable exit hole (or entry) : for cable to connect to FTS or fibre opticterminal equipments orvice versa. One each on left and right side panel, two each of top and bottompanel.

3.2    Splice tray

3.2.1 Four splice tray and drawer assembly, each splice tray can be removedfrom the shelf forsplice work.

3.2.2 Each splice tray contains two splice organizers for accommodating 24fibre splices.
